Sharing is caring!
Last week I didn't provide you with a new tool, because the autumn/fall break started. I have set a rule for myself that if I don't teach the week following a Sunday, I won't write a blog. Simply to take some rest and give my mind some time off, too.
This week's tool is a very easy one to use, just to get back into the whole school thing. Mentimeter allows you to ask questions and see your audience's response in a clear graph.
You simply create an account on Mentimeter.com, which can be done by signing in with your Google account. After logging in, you can create a presentation. The free version only offers two questions per presentation, but the amount of presentations is unlimited, so you can choose to use multiple.
Once you have created a few questions, you can ask you students or audience to go to www.menti.com and to enter your presentation code. After this they can for example vote, answer an open question, or distribute 100 points to share their opinion.
Of course this tool can work perfectly for formative testing, but it's also a great way of keeping your students engaged. Consider asking whether they're on task or perhaps understanding the assignments well.
