LINO IT
Sharing is caring!

Linoit.com is a wonderful tool for students to brainstorm, organise or even communicate. It offers an empty canvas whereon, depending on with whom you share it, people or guests can leave sticky notes. The sticky notes may feature links, videos, text, or images. A canvas can easily be embedded in a website, if you wish.

The tool is built in such a way that it allows you to highlight the newest notes, reminds you of important events, and enables you as an owner of the canvas to delete inappropriate messages.

I find Lino It the perfect tool to express opinions. Students can leave short sticky notes with their opinion (signed with their names; perfect way to make them take responsibility for their words), which can later be discussed in class. Quite recently I had students who were able to create a very informative poster out of the sticky notes; they really enjoyed working with the tool!

Requirements
- Internet connection
- Laptops/tablets (there's also an app available)

Pros
- Very easy to use
- No sign up needed
- Supports various media

Cons
- A bit basic in set up

SUPER TEACHER TOOLS
Sharing is caring!

Not all tools that are used in the classroom are solely student focused; there are many tools out there to help you in regular teaching situations!

SuperTeacherTools.us is one amongst many websites that offers several very handy tools for teachers. From a countdown to remind the students of the time they have left to finish the assignment, to a random group generator to take the fall when group formation is troublesome.

A similar but a bit more chaotic website is Classtools.net. Classtools also has some more ideas as regards to short quizzes, games, and posters.

By using these short tools in your lesson, you offer your students a nice break from the regular course of events. Apart from that, the tools truly help you as a teacher. It's easy to create a seating chart or set up a timer for an activity. You, as well as the students, are free to go about your own business until the tool reminds you to move on.

Requirements
- Internet connection
- Possibly a projector

Pros
- Very easy to use and set up
- All free!
- Helps you as a teacher in regular teaching
- Does not require any advanced ICT skills

Cons
- Relatively simple and limited

EASELLY
Sharing is caring!

Easel.ly is one amongst many great tools to create infographics! Infographics are wonderful tools to support a presentation, structurise ideas, or create for example flow charts.

The tool itself is very easy to use. Various templates are available to provide you with a kick start, but you can also start from scratch and design your infograph yourself. The basic version of the tool is free, but upgrades require payment.

You can create an infographic yourself about a subject students may find hard to grasp, but I have seen that it is a lot more fun if the students make them themselves. It allows them to work creatively, to structurise the information, and in the end it gives them a great overview of what they have learnt. It's also very effective to let the students present their infographic; they are far more inventive and creative than you may expect.

Interested in other infographic tools? Take a look here! (Thanks to an amazing teacher for giving me the link!)

BLENDSPACE
Sharing is caring!

Blendspace.com is a wonderful tool to create lessons in a short amount of time. Blendspace allows you to create a lesson similar to a slideshow, where quizzes, YouTube videos, images, and any other kind of multimedia can be embedded.

Your lessons can be shared via more than 200 platforms and your lesson is completely student paced. Blendspace is a perfect tool for differentation, flip the classroom, or just a regular exercise.  Because it's student paced, your pupils can go back to the slide they didn't quite get, or take a quiz multiple times.

What's especially wonderful about Blendspace, is that it allows you to implement a wide array of input, which means students don't have to switch between several websites. Apart from that, you can easily address multiple learning styles. Some students learn more from watching a video, while others prefer reading a text. By providing your students with all of this, your learning efficiency will most certainly increase!

Requirements
- Internet connection
- Laptop/tablet

Pros
- All multimedia tools can be used
- Easy to use
- Free!
- Multiple learning styles
- Everything in one tool

Cons
- Making it look appealing may take you a bit longer

EDUCAPLAY
Sharing is caring!

Educaplay.com is a website with numerous games for education. The variety of assignments and exercises makes this tool useful for any subject. From pointing things out on a map to writing down a dictated word, and from crossword puzzles to practising a dialogue; this tool has got it all.

Educaplay is very easy to use, but the simplicity of the creation-stage may require some figuring out. The tools you create are very easy to embed (in a website or e-mail), but you can also choose to share the link with your students. Of course you can also choose to project the game and use it as part of your instruction.

Educaplay is free, but in exchange for that it displays advertisements (similar to YouTube). The tool will keep track of your students' score and place them on a scoreboard. This causes the students to become competitive and try their best. The games can be accustomed in any way you like and will prove to really enhance your lessons!

Requirements

- Laptops/phones/tablets

Pros
- Easy to use
- Scoreboard
- Useful for any subject
- Free!
- Students can easily create a game themselves

Cons

- Website is quite simple; may take some time to figure out
