![]() COUNTER Sharing is caring! Some tools don't see like they could be an educational tool at all, at first sight. However, I quite like challenges and I always try to find a way to take something from everyday life and use it in my classroom. Counter is one of these tools. Normally I wouldn't propose an app as a tool, since not all of you are working with the same devices, but this app works best on smartphones, which is a device most of us have nowadays. A counter app (available in Apple and Android stores) is incredibly simple. Just set a topic, and count how many times you've done that throughout a week, month, or perhaps even year. This can be fun to do yourself. Consider counting the cups of coffee you drink throughout a year (too many), or how many time you actually go to the gym (not often enough). For your students it can be interesting to literally count their blessings, have insight in how often they work on their future, how often they had fun at school or how often they've helped another student. This tool can be used in class, but I think it's much more useful to teach your pupils a valuable lesson with it. Requirements - Smartphone The app itself doesn't quite have advantages or disadvantages, simply because there are multiple apps that serve the same purpose. Have you ever used Counter? Please leave a comment! Any other suggestions for ICT tools? Please let me know!
